It’s great to see you signed up to be an ambassador for your school! Now that you have been onboarded, this page gives a detailed overview of all the features on Tribe so you know exactly what is possible.
When logging in, you will see a navigation bar on the left-hand side (on desktop) or at the bottom of your screen (on mobile). All features are available across both the web and mobile app versions of Tribe. Each account has three major sections:
1. Ambassador Overview:
The Ambassador Overview section displays the profiles of all your fellow ambassadors. This is a great way to see who else is representing your institution and get inspiration from how they have set up their own profiles.
2. Inbox:
Your inbox stores all of your chats with prospective students and works just like your WhatsApp or Instagram inboxes.
- New Messages: All new messages are listed at the top of your inbox, ordered from newest to oldest.
- Unread Messages: Conversations you haven't opened yet are marked by a red circle 🔴 in the top right corner.
- Manage your Inbox: To keep your inbox clean, you can archive conversations that have ended. Use the ‘Archive’ button at the top right of the chat. You can still access these in the ‘Archived’ tab.
If either you or the student sends a new message, the chat will automatically move back to your active inbox.
- Block a User: If a conversation makes you feel uncomfortable, use the ‘Block’ function found behind the three dots linkat the top right corner. This prevents the user from messaging you again and notifies the platform admin to review the situation.
Notifications
Tribe automatically sends notifications so you never miss a message:
- App: If you use the app and allow notifications, you will receive a push notification immediately, plus a reminder if a message remains unread for 24 hours.
- Email: If you don't use the app, an email is sent within 10 minutes of a new message, with a reminder after 24 hours if it’s still unread.
📌 Important: If you accidentally rejected push notifications when you first opened the app, please update your permissions in your phone’s general settings or re-download the app. Staying up to date is key!
3. Profile & Settings:
This page is where you manage your public profile and account details. If anything changes during your time as an ambassador—like changing courses, joining a new society, or wanting a fresh bio—you should update it here.
How to update your profile:
- Make your changes in the ‘Account Information’ or ‘Profile Information’ sections.
- Click the ‘Save Changes’ button at the bottom of the page.
- Voila! Your profile is instantly updated.
