Your own conversations with prospects, ambassadors and admins, and how you're notified.
Chats is your personal inbox: every conversation you're personally part of, and the page you land on after signing in. It's separate from Admin Chats, which shows conversations between prospects and ambassadors that you're only observing. Open it from Chats in the sidebar.
Before you start
- Nothing to set up. If you want a public profile so prospects can start chats with you directly, see Your Admin Profile.
📬 What's in your inbox
Conversation with | How it started |
A prospect | They messaged you from the Iframe, or you chose Chat with [name] on Prospects |
An ambassador | You chose Chat with [name] on Ambassadors, or they messaged you |
Another admin | Either of you started it |
A prospect and ambassador | You posted into their conversation from Admin Chats |
How to start a conversation
- With an ambassador: Ambassadors → ⋯ → Chat with [name].
- With a prospect: Prospects → ⋯ → Chat with [name].
Both open the conversation in Chats, ready to type.
Reading and replying
Click a conversation on the left. Type in Type a message… and send. Under your last message you'll see Sent, then Seen once the other person has read it.
Archiving
To clear a finished conversation from the Active list, open it, click ⋯ and choose Archive chat. It moves to the Archived tab and comes back on its own if the other person writes again.
🔔 Notifications
- Email — if a message to you goes unread for a few minutes, you get an email. If it's still unread after a day, you get a reminder.
- Push — on the Tribe mobile app, you get a push notification for each new message.
Opening a conversation marks it as read and stops the reminders.
You're only notified about messages in your own inbox — not about conversations between prospects and ambassadors in Admin Chats.
